Massive Attack
Massive Attack
2016 Tour
Bristol trip hop ensemble, Massive Attack, take on the world for the first time in 5-years.
Not surprisingly, ER Productions were ecstatic to be working with the collective behind acclaimed 90s album Mezzanine, which enjoyed worldwide success.
Nine giant, rotating screens displaying Google search terms provide the back drop for the shows and convey a more serious subtext, which echoes through the design, lasers and special effects.
Although ER Productions is well known for creating big laser compositions, the design for the Massive Attack tour is altogether subtler. To achieve the look, RGB Beamburst, red Burstbox and red Beambox lasers were rigged upstage to provide minimalist accents through the show without compromising on impact.
Ryan Hagan, co-founder at ER Productions, comments “We’ve really enjoyed creating a cool laser design that reflects Massive Attack’s innate style and sensibility. ER productions spec to any brief, large or small, and the overall effect in the Massive Attack show demonstrates that less is sometimes more. We are looking forward to a great run of festival shows over the summer!”
